It's a sunny afternoon and blasts of warm air blows against the fluttering sheets of vertical blinds, in the open window of Grandpoppy's office. Our old television is on and the "Breaking News", of the day announces the Republican win in the House of Representatives for the Trump Care Act. The bill will go to the Senate for vote, next. If the bill passes there, it will become the law of the land, replacing Obamacare.
So much is at stake for so many people, who live with pre-existing medical conditions. It has been said, that this bill will increase their cost of healthcare premiums by 5 times the current rate and their deductibles by 3 times the current rate. If these assumptions are borne out to be fact, within the coming years, then the lack of affordable healthcare will decimate the demographic population of seniors 55 years and older. It seems like a backhanded way to eliminate an entire demographic population of the country's poorest and sickest people.
Hitler had a social program that eliminated the financial drain on the German government responsible for providing medical and healthcare benefits for the physically and mentally disabled, terminally ill and elderly population, too. It was introduced as a humane and compassionate response to the poor's costly afflictions, cloaked as euthanasia. It was called the Aktion T4 program.
If the Republican's Trump Care Act fails the American people, it will have the same results.
Time is the test, that will prove whether the 2017 TCA... is truly the humane and compassionate response of our elected government officials, to it's most vulnerable citizens... the poor and the sick.
