Good evening! It seemed as though there were many more fighter jets and helicopters crisscrossing the sky over the Pacific Ocean today. Perhaps, I am mistaken in judgment. News on every television channel today, sent chills through my body! The winds of war have shaken the world.
Tonight, I ponder the dangerous game of chicken that both, Trump and Kim Jong Un are engaged in, that will threaten mankind's very existence. Who will back down? Who will blink first? Who will launch the world into a bleak darkness, that might have been averted? Who wins when 2 bullies face off with each other and neither one risks their own skin, but the skin of the pawns they send to play for them?
I attended a Sunday morning church service one time when "Preacher", gave a sermon about making a commitment. He asked the congregation, " Do you know what the difference is between a breakfast plate served with fried pork chops and a breakfast plate served with scrambled eggs? The pig was irreversibly committed and the chicken made a donation.
Tonight, the world is afraid. The world's fear about the results of this crazy game of chicken, between Trump and Kim is the defining "clear and present danger". This famous phrase was coined by Supreme Court Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, back in 1919 and has never so succinctly expressed the collective fear of diverse nations as tonight. What news are we going to wake up to in the morning?
What countries will end up choosing up sides? What sides will they choose, now that Trump has successfully alienated America from NATO? Who will be our allies now? What will their donation be? G-d help us!
